Boutsen Ginion Racing will compete in the iconic colours of Michel Vaillant during this year's Fanatec GT World Challenge Europe Powered by AWS Endurance Cup.
Created in 1957, the comic strip has become an inspiration to fans all over the world. A total of 79 books have been produced, while the work has become truly global thanks to translations in 10 different languages.
The colours of the #10 BMW M6 GT3 will match those used by Vaillant, while the side of the car features the 'Wroooarrr' graphic used in the comic to depict engine noise.
It will pay tribute to two legends of the Belgian automotive scene: Jean Graton, the celebrated creator of Michel Vaillant, who passed away earlier this year at the age of 97; and Jean Blaton, a famed car collector who died in December 2020 at the age of 91.
The project has been led by another Belgian motorsport star: team co-founder and advisor Thierry Boutsen, who remains his country's most recent Formula 1 race winner. The 'art car' will undertake the five-round Endurance Cup schedule, including the Total 24 Hours of Spa (28 July-1 August), with Karim Ojjeh, Jens Klingmann and Jens Liebhauser sharing the wheel.
